These premium ox hair brushes are made with genuine ox hair, wrapped with a stainless steel ferrule, and attached to a painted wooden handle.
Ox hair brushes have a good snap, very similar to far more expenisve sable hair brushes. Ox hair brushes are well known for not showing brush marks, which is helpful when gilding. Many gilders like this ox hair brush for stippling.
These brushes are ideal for applying both oil and Water Based gilding size. If gilding with both oil and Water Based size, it is best to have a brush for each type of size to avoid cross contamination. They can also used to apply base coat primer/sealer, topcoat sealer, shellac, paint and more.
To extend the use of the brush, clean the brush immediately after finishing with your project. Shape the brush when done and let it dry.
