Polyurethane Water-Base Topcoat Information & Instructions
When properly applied, Acrylic Topcoat will prevent tarnishing and oxidation of leaf with a low gold content, such as 18k, 12k, silver, copper, imitation and variegated leaf. It will also protect the gilded surface from gentle handling, but not from abuse. It should not be applied on leaf that may be subjected to heavy use, such as table tops, cabinet doors etc. Acrylic Topcoat has excellent water, ultra-violet and chemical resistance. It can also be used as a wood finish/sealer and concrete sealer. It is available in clear gloss or satin finish.
USAGE OVERVIEW:
1. The area being sealed should be be clean and dust-free. Use a soft brush to remove any dust or particles that might remain. Make sure that any adhesive is completely dry and cured. If water gilding, be sure there is no water or moisture in the area which will be sealed.
2. Before applying topcoat, be sure to stir and mix the contents thoroughly. Occasionally mix and stir during use. Do not shake!
3. If brushing, any good quality natural bristle brush should be used, the self-leveling properties of the product eliminate the need to over-brush the coating. If rolling, use a high quality short nap roller cover. When spraying, follow the equipment manufacturer recommendations.
4. Allow 2 hours between coats.
5. If needed, the mixture can be thinned by adding up to one part water to 16 parts topcoat. (8 fluid oz per gallon, 2oz per quart, 1oz per pint, or 1/2 oz per half-pint.
Cleanup
Clean wet product with warm water. Lacquer thinner can be used to soften and remove any dried material if needed.
Coverage
Coverage is about 400 square feet per gallon, 100 square feet for a quart, 50 square feet per pint, 25 square feet per half-pint, and 12 square feet for a quarter pint.
Storage
Keep away from freezing temperatures. Do not allow to freeze.
This is a water-base product and is not flammable.
Close container after each use.

Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist. Open doors and windows to assure fresh air during application and drying. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. Proper respiratory, eye and clothing protection should always be worn.
