Kölner Rapid is a gold leaf water base size/adhesive that is especially designed for gilding chiseled or sand-blasted letters on stone such as granite and marble monuments. With Kölner Rapid, gilding on stone can be done quickly and on site.
Using Kölner Rapid results in high quality glossy and bright surface that that gives the appearance of being water gilded and burnished. The gilded surface will last for many years. Rapid Yellow is excellent for use with yellow gold leaf. Rapid Clear will work with any color leaf.
When gilding outdoor surfaces that lay flat or catch rain water, which will result in faster weathering, consider using Kölner Instacoll.
